The forecast for the later part of the week is cold with a high of 2F on Friday, not including wind-chill. Our indoor stays warmer than outside but it isn't heated. I won't ride when it is below 15F.
How cold is too cold for you?
What do you do when it is too cold to ride? Grooming? Tack cleaning?

I'm thinking under 25 is way to cold to ride (although in the past I have), now I'm getting too old for those temps. Grooming would be a better idea.
I'm a wimp about the cold and in the past wouldn't ride if it was under 20. But now I'm s-p-o-i-l-e-d with a heated grooming barn and heated arena!
Oh, if it gets into the low 20's I would not ride, but that rarely happens long where I live. Otherwise it's no issue. Sorry you are so cold.
I'm getting the same frigid weather that you are. I will still do light riding (mostly walk, little trot) when the temps get down into the teens, but not below. We have a warm indoor with deep, soft footing so it's not jarring for light work. My boy needs all the training we can get right now, so we've just been doing some groundwork. Practice moving hind end, shoulders, backing, forward, lunging at a walk. It's less than he does on his own turned out in the arena!

Heated arena! Oh, I'm jealous.

Good idea :) Thnx
I keep my horses barefoot, so I stop riding when it gets icy, which was in December and I don't expect to get on a horse before early May - late April if we are lucky. The cold has nothing to do with riding, since I still spend my time in the open fields, feeding, watering, grooming and enjoying my herd of three horses.
Brrrr! You are all so much braver than I am. I ride when it's over 30 but it's not fun. Once upon a time when I was young, I rode regardless of the temperatures but now that I am over 50, it just seems to sink into my bones more. Fiona, I am so jealous of your heated arena.
